Nestled in the heart of Northeast Texas amid ranches, cattle leases, and the piney woods
Black Barn Rescue (BBR) was officially founded as a registered 501(c)3 Nonprofit in the early Fall of 2024 by Patricia Farris, who has been rescuing animals her whole life....as a child she would bring home and beg her family to let her keep every stray animal that she came across. Patricia and her mother moved to Red River County in 2020 and slowly developed a raw piece of land to become a shelter for animals in this and surrounding communities, who have no home and no hope. BBR will be focusing on livestock guardian dogs who have been surrendered or perhaps just don't fit their rancher's program... and at-risk horses who with the right home could still live a purposeful life.
We are a faith-filled organization that knows our Creator did not make anyone or anything, that was worthless or without value. So, when we come across an animal who has been discarded or no longer wanted for whatever reason, we want to help them find a new purpose either here or with a loving home somewhere else.
We believe all beings can thrive with love and kindness and we want to do our part for the animals here in Northeast Texas.
Thank you, for visiting our home on the web and we look forward to partnering with you in whatever way you are willing to help!
Many blessings to you!
